I have long been a fan of Francine Rivers and the work she has done in her previous novels When I first heard about her book called Redeeming Love, I was overflowing with anticipation to see what one of my favorite authors would present this time.

Now, after reading this book, all I can say is WOW. Francine has really outdone herself this time by providing one of the most touching books I have ever read. Furthermore, I think she did an great job in retelling the story of the book of Hosea.

If you haven’t heard of Redeeming Love, let me tell you a little about the story..

The main character, Angel, is sold into prostitution as a young child. During this time, she develops a hatred for men because of the way they treated her.. As one would imagine, she hates being used and thrown away, so she completely hardens her heart towards any male she comes across..

However, God is looking out for her, and knows that she just needs someone like Michael Hosea in her life.. Being a man of God, Michael has been called by God to enter in her life and to marry her, thus showing her how a man is supposed to love a woman.

Despite his care, Angel’s past experiences have hardened her heart in such a way that she at first rejects his love, eventually growing to feel unworthy of such care.. At first she runs away from Michael, but eventually comes to realize that she can be healed by the God that she has rejected all of her life.

Will Angel return to her previous life of pain, or will she accept God’s love for her??

And the ending..well…I won’t spoil it.. You’ll just have to find out for yourself.

I felt that this book was applicable to our lives today. Many women can relate to running away from a man’s love because she was hurt in the past. But as Rivers proves with this book, God is the one thing that can overcome any past heartache and restore love in our hearts..

I would highly recommend that you take a chance on love and enjoy this Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.
