Probably the most memorable event of your life will be your wedding, so it stands to reason that the arrangements for it will be quite extensive and elaborate.  This includes everything, right down to the arrangements for the wedding reception.

If you want to host a reception, take a look at how they generally work.

Normally the reception begins within 15 minutes of the couple exiting the auditorium.  After arrival guests are greeted and seated.This is the plan that is usually taken, in case you decide to go with a seating plan. If not, the guests find their own seats, with whomever they’d like to sit.

Soon after, ensure that the parents and sponsors are present at the head table.

Ask that entourage members, except parents and primary sponsors gather around the receiving area once most people are sitting down.  They must gather together at the pre-determined moment.The order in which the wedding party is called is: flower girls, ring bearers, secondary sponsors, groomsmen and bridesmaids, and lastly, the best man and maid of honor.

Making their grand entrance, the couple is accompanied with confetti, bubbles or other effects.

Once the couple is in, properly acknowledge the parents and the primary sponsors, allowing them to stand and wave. The duo can be asked to tend to the ceremony of the cutting of the cake at the spot reserved for this purpose.  Followed by the champagne toast will be a release of doves.The next portion is the maid of honor giving a prayer of thanksgiving. After this comes the meal, in which the guests are called for pictures with the bride and groom.  After this, they go to the buffet table to run things at the table. The guest performer performs once everybody gets their food and is situated.  If there is an audio-visual presentation, it comes next.

Next, the best man offers up a celebratory toast, followed by congratulatory speeches for the couple.  You should only allow a few of these, lest things get too bogged down.After this, the Father of the Bride dances along with the bride, and then the groom dances with his bride.  Other dances, if done, can come after this.

Two of the more cherished parts of the experience are the bouquet toss and the garter ceremony, which the guests would be disappointed to miss. Dont ever forget candle wedding favors or wedding party favors!

There are many options for this.  Not all wedding receptions are the same, as some do not incorporate live musicians.  Others include a dance where the groom dances with his mother.  By barely tweaking the standard program, your reception will offer originality to keep your guests engaged while maintaining tradition.
